The shop

She has always described it as small. Everyone else describes it as the centre of the family for twenty years.

“Ah, it was only a little place.”

…and a month later, in her memoir

It gets its own group chat.

A new group on WhatsApp, or whatever you already use. Nothing new for anyone to learn.

They answer however they like.

Typing, voice notes, old photos, a short video. It remembers, and follows up.

It becomes their memoir.
